Academy Monthly Calendar:
January 23, 2012: School has started off well! The students have adjusted well to the new facility and all are enjoying the extra space. They are also adjusting to new routines and new rules that have been added or changed from the former building.
January 2, 2012 - The school has been moved from the former building at 410 W. Cherry Street to the new academy at 1309 W. Washington Steet. We praise God for helping us to make the move and for the countless late hours many spent getting the academy ready for school to resume after Christmas break. We must continue to pray and fight the enemy; we know who will win in the end.
December 2011: There have been many things happening. Small changes, new staff, new rules, new schedules, and much prayer to the smooth operation of each day. The staff have been working together as a team and the students are responding. We praise the Lord for the privilege to have the students and to bestow upon them the influence of Biblical teachings. The students who remain on privilege levels enjoy weekly field trips to close-by places.
December is a month of a huge change! We are moving to our new academy located at 1309 West Washington Street! We are very excited about this and cannot wait to start fresh after Christmas break in January. We plan to start the move when the students and staff go on Christmas break December 16th.
September 2011 - WHA has been off to a great start. We started with 19 students including several new ones. Rev. Tim Cole is now supervisor and Pastor Chad is the principal. He has left many responsibilities to Rev. Tim Cole and will use his extra time doing his pastoral duties. Beth Hauke delivered her child recently, a healthy girl, Kara Nicole. She will return to school when the time is right. Stanley has been on vacation and will resume his duties at the academy on his next set of days off from his job. He is anxious to be back and the students miss him!
Week of July 10, 2011 - *As has always been the goal for the House of Hope they are starting their own campus onsite school this fall. This is what the national model requires, however, they made exception for Bluffton as the HOH was just starting. The boys will no longer be attending our Academy; however, this is a positive step for the HOH as they are moving forward. We wish them God Speed, and thank them for allowing us to be a part of their ministry.
*May 18, 2011 - As the academic year approaches an end, the staff and students are excited for the Awards Ceremony. The ceremony was held at two of the students' grandparent's home, which was a very generous offer! The pool house was beautifully set and a wonderful meal was served! We thank the Fraghiars, Reinhards, and the Shadys for their hard work and generosity! We praise the Lord and thank Him for bestowing blessings upon the school/ministry, a great time of fellowship, and for the hard work of the students.
*May 9, 2011 - Over $550 was raised at the Pizza Hut fundraiser! Praise the Lord! The students are excited and looking forward to the International Student Convention.
*May 5, 2011 - We praise the Lord for a very successful bake sale! We now have only $800.00 more to go and we believe that this can be accomplished Monday night, May 9, 5-7:30pm at the Bluffton Pizza Hut. Please bring your family and friends for a wonderful time of fellowship and great buffet pizza and salads! $1 per buffet plus tips will be going towards the A.C.E. International Student Convention funds.
*April 4, 2011 - The fundraiser at East Chicago Pizza was a great success! The academy raised $1,100 for the International Student Convention in May. Praise the Lord!
*March 11, 2011 - The Regional Student Convention was a great week for the students! God was with them and the staff. The students won numerous medals among them and the academy won four plaques for each Music, Academics, Athletics, and Exhibits. Praise the Lord!
*February 21, 2011 -The Pizza Hut fundraiser was a great success!! Upon arrival at about 10 minutes til 5 pm, there was a winter storm outside and a student didn't think we were going to get very much business. It looked like it. Not a soul in the dining area. One minute past 5, we have customers and by 5:30 pm, the dining area was full of people!! Praise the Lord for answer to prayer. The dining area was mostly full until 7:30 pm! It was a great time of fellowship and new students and families getting to know each other. The junior high and high school students enjoyed working for their needed funds for the convention.
*January 13, 2011 - What can we say? We can say, "Praise the Lord!!" We have another student, Deidra, a second grader, starting on Monday, January 17. That is a total of 21 students and that is our maximum capacity as far as our student offices are concerned! We pray the Lord can help us increase capacity to accomodate more students in the future. There is a reason why we are getting more students! We thank the Lord very much for the opportunity to teach/instill in another student the wonderful truth about Jesus and how to grow in Him and be an asset in His Kingdom!
*January 10, 2011 - The academy has started this week with not only one, but TWO new students! Lydia, in the 11th grade; and Nathaniel, in the 6th grade. This brings the students to a total of 20, representing 11 grades. We praise the Lord! We pray that we will impact and train these new young minds for the Kingdom, the highest calling!
*January 8, 2011 - The academy will be getting a new student from the House of Hope (Hope Academy) starting Jan. 10th! This makes a total of 19 students. Praise the Lord. We look forward to instilling Godly influence on another young life.
*January 2011 - We are expecting a new student from the House of Hope to start attending this second semester! Praise the Lord! Thankful the school is growing and its influence can be passed onto these growing minds.
*November 2010 - Our Sub Sandwich Fundraiser was a huge success! We sold almost 1300 subs! Thanks to all the people who helped make the sub-building successful! Tim Cole for being in charge of the day and running the operation smoothly. Keith Meade for cutting the meat, Ruby Roberts and Lori Cole for dividing and weighing the meat, Terri Stacy for fixing a delicious lunch, and Mrs. Schwartz for bringing wonderful cinnamon rolls for breakfast! The students and staff worked hard to make mouth-watering subs and delivering them to their customers. Thanks to all who bought subs...ENJOY!
*September 2010 - Our field trip to the Creation Museum was very educating for the students! We thank the Lord for a safe trip to and from the museum. We were exhausted but very glad to have the experience and more confidence in the truth which is listed in the Bible. Looking forward to our next field trip.
*August 2010 - We are thankful and thrilled for the opportunity to educate young minds in a Christian environment. We have been blessed with a total of 18 students, including 4 new students (2 were previously enrolled in summer school; this is their first academy year), 2 boys from the House of Hope of Northeast Indiana, and our first graduating class, Class of 2011, with 4 students graduating.
